Shalom, Friends!
Kiev Jewish Messianic Congregation welcomes you!
Our Congregation was formed in early 1995 after the First Ukrainian Festival of
Jewish Music and Dance organized by Hear, O Israel Ministries. It reached many
Jewish people and also reminded Christians that the God they believed in was
the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. The heart of our God
is open to all people, regardless of their nationality, age, social status and
education. And for that reason our Congregation has united more then one
thousand Jews, Ukrainians, Russians and people from other nations.
We understand that our Congregation (as well as
others) is a part of the great restoration of David’s fallen tabernacle (Amos
9:11-12). It is so joyful to see the ancient prophecies coming to pass, and
even more so to participate in them! The mission of KJMC is revival among
Jewish people that is accomplished through an awakening of the Church and
restoration of the Jewish family in the Body of Messiah.
Every Sabbath we gather together as a congregation
and celebrate the freedom that God has given us in Our Lord Yeshua, Who is also
the Lord of Sabbath and the center of our worship. During these services, God
shows Himself to us in a powerful way and confirms His word with signs and
wonders as it was written: “The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the
lepers are cleansed, and the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel
preached to them.” (Mt. 11:5) Many, and sometimes even hundreds of healings and
other signs of God’s renewal, both spiritual and physical, take place in the
Congregation every week. That is true not only with members of the
Congregation, but also with their relatives, friends and our guests.
There
is a new form of Shabbat service that God showed us recently. They are called
“Shabbats of Freedom”. So far we had about 700 people coming to each of those.
50% of them were unbelievers. The Lord moved powerfully during those meeting
and around 80% of people received healings there. Also some of their relatives
who were not present were healed by God during the time of the service.
We also like celebrating Biblical Jewish
holidays, such as Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkoth, Purim, Passover and
others. On these days, besides congregational services, we perform joyful
concerts for unbelievers; get together in families, as well as trying to serve
the needy and the sick in hospitals, orphanages, jails, etc.
While attending our Congregation people become
acquainted with Yeshua (Jesus), go through Foundational Classes, get baptized
in water and the Holy Spirit, and learn various Biblical Jewish traditions. The
Bible becomes alive and is revealed in a Jewish context and family spirit that
the historical church has lost considerably. In the life of the congregation,
we also practice intercession when we gather together to worship the God of
Israel and accept His will. We intercede
for Israel, our country, our congregation, and appeal to Him for guidance and
help to answer our problems and needs.
Every day of the week, there are 7 night prayer meetings that are
devoted to intercession for Israel, our pastor and warfare against the
strongholds of the enemy in Ukraine and other places. The ministry that
organizes these prayers has been growing into a national prayer movement, “Shomer” (Watchman). One of their main directions is Prayer
Tours. You can find more information about this movement from their brochure
and at shomer_24@mail.ru, shomer@ukr.net
The Congregational ministries are quite
diverse. There are home groups,
rehabilitation centers, various types of evangelism, hospital visitation,
street kids and orphans ministry, Alpha Clubs, etc. There are also new ministries that have
appeared and are developing now at our Congregation, such as “comfortable
homes”, café’s, an unusual Jewish youth congregation, evangelistic
concerts, and others.
Our children have a very interesting time while
learning the Bible, performing plays, singing, dancing, and simply having fun
in our children’s school “Simhat Gdolah”
(“Great Joy”). Right now we have a group of children being trained in hearing
the voice of God, moving in the Spirit, evangelizing on the streets of Kiev,
and praising God in a prophetic way.
Four years ago, our daughter congregation “Mishpachah” (“Family”) was established in Kiev. This
ministry is aimed at youth, teenagers, children and their parents. “Mishpachah” organizes and conducts Shabbat services,
concerts, clubs, trainings, camp programs, and worship services.
For a number of years, our Congregation has been
successful in providing assistance to those who are lowly and needy, as well as
to their relatives. Some of them could not overcome alcohol and drug addiction
by themselves. As a result, there are hundreds of lives who have been saved and
delivered and dozens of families restored. There are rehabilitation centers in
our Congregation. A special worship service for prisoners was organized and is
successfully functioning from the Congregation. Because of it, prisoners in
three men’s prisons have heard the good news about the love of the God of
Israel. Also the ministers of our
Congregation bring mercy and love to many homeless
children in Kiev. Their hearts are open to love and show compassion on these
young souls and unstable minds. As a result of this ministry, many children
have been rescued from the streets, restored and saved. There are plans for
organizing a Messianic orphanage for such kids in the Kiev area.
Last year a School of Messianic Leadership was
begun in Kiev. It`s purpose is the preparation of
leaders for the end-time revival of the Jewish people. The studies are a
combination of lectures, seminars and practical ministry. Each school goes for
3 months. Also we have a new School of Messianic Speakers where students are
trained in Jewish topics, and in studying the Scriptures from a Jewish
perspective. They are being prepared to fulfill the calling of our Congregation
to spread the Messianic vision among Christian Churches and in other settings.
Other educational structures are also being developed now.
We
also believe that prayer is a main key to finding God’s will, desires and
revealed direction for us. For this reason, we began organizing regular prayer
and fasting outings every three-four months just outside of Kiev. 650 people
from 44 cities and 7 countries participated in such a Retreat in January, 2007. These retreats
have a great impact on many lives and inspire spiritual growth and spread the
vision God has given us. The Lord does things in us in a few days’ time which
usually would require months to be accomplished. The move of God has been
constantly increasing with each fast. Most of the things revealed to us there
become key topics that unfold throughout the year, not only in our congregation
but also in other congregations and churches. God gives us divine strategy for
the salvation of His people and we are greatly privileged to be a part of this
incredible plan.
